I do not know if it is a good omen or bad but Sarah asked me to pack her high heel shoes for her in MY BAG! Sacrilege by any light, travel packing standards. I did it, but the truth while I did not like the idea, she was not over packed. She did it the way it is suppose to be done with one carry on bag and her tote courtesy of Eagle Creek. Good quality luggage but that is for another posting.
I had my larger than normal backpack bag, no wheels. Wheels are for wimps or women. I packed more than when I travel alone. 3 extra shirts, and 2 extra pants,p.us and bathing suit.
Another uneventful drive from the airport. However, this time I was annoyed, the guy took Atlantic Avenue all the way which gets you to the airport. I like going to the airport from Eastern Parkway. I was tired and did not sleep well so I wasn't the usually me. Assertive, which to the real world probably sounds like some mob guy from Brooklyn. So I let it go. Check in was smooth however, the weight of my bag was a horrendous 22.5 lbs!! Normally, I am at 12pounds tops sans gadgets.
Jet blue terminal is wonderful. We spot and the food place to coffee up and grab something for the flight, Sarah a sandwich and me a yogurt and granola. Before we left, we were trying to figure an intermediate sweater for Sarah to bring with her. We could not come up with the exact weight and warmth sweater. After eating, I mention that we should stop at the Ex-Offico clothing store. These guys do gadget clothes that are useful as well as stylish. A nice sweater catches my eye. And I mentioned it to Sarah. She had a rain jacket in her hand, nice but has limited function when you pack for travel. Each item of clothing must do more that one thing and a person needs to say to himself/herself will I wear it enough to make it worth carrying.
Sarah tired on her size in the sweater and love it. Happy that she found something great, I pay for the article of clothing and a happy couple heads to their gate
We find our gate and go to sit down. Sarah is already off to do some shopping. Se returns with sweater, mirror, makeup kit and whatever else she bought increasing her bag volume by 25 percent --- Minimum.....of course, that is a bit of an exaggeration but you get the idea.
We hop on and take off.....
